Nancy J. (Kelly) Caruso

October 24, 1950 — September 14, 2024

Forward Twp.

Nancy J. (Kelly) Caruso, age 73, of Forward Township, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born October 24,1950 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Francis P. and Eleanor Ruth (Brink) Kelly of Hampton Township. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Kelly (Ginger) and sister, Patricia Kelly, as well as in-laws Andrew and Frances Caruso and Dennis Caruso.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Andrew Caruso; her children, Dina (Steven), Wade (Carly), Nick (Siobhan), Julie (Matthew), Vince (Anna), Nathan (Tracy), Ross (Molly), and Ray (Tina); and grandchildren, Brendon, Justin, Lidia, Andrew, Vivian, Marie, Evan, Pieter, Julia, Gene, Waylon, Eden, Frances, Lucy, Brandon, Austin, and Sheldon. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel Kelly (Lorraine), and sister, Kathleen Kelly; in-laws, Nina Caruso, Deborah Caruso; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Nancy lives on in her family and friends through her kindness and generosity. She lives on through her inspiring life as a strong woman, a matriarch, a loving partner and supporter who gave of herself until the end with copious hugs and kisses and an 'I love you' whispered while she was still able. She lives on as a creator, a mom to 8 and grandma to 17, who would crochet a blanket or Christmas stocking as a gift upon birth or college acceptance or marriage. She lives on as an organizer, making birthdays special, planning vacations or her "Wednesday Date Day" with Drew, ensuring family reunions and (as a founding member of Tel-Kel) keeping us connected with our extended family. She lives on through her dutiful genealogy work, gathering family histories and lineages which connected us to our ancestors. She lives on as a teacher and a lifelong learner, unafraid to tackle her own taxes and challenge the bank on an account balance, teaching herself how to cut hair and sew clothes for her children, or turning her love of personal computing into a successful freelance career. She explored her many interests through weekly trips to the library and travel. She lives on in us through her love of music, dancing, ice cream, exercise (especially aqua zumba), playing games (sometimes too competitively), puzzles, and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. We love you Mom and be sure that your spirit will be alive in us and our families forever.
