Dr. Robert T. Hauman, of Butler, formerly of Chicora, went to be with God Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born July 22, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas, the son of the late Lena Ruth Rymer Hauman Higgins and Robert T. Hauman Sr. He was the beloved stepson of Robert E. Higgins. Ted was an active member of Zion Church of Petroleum Valley in Karns City. Ted grew up in Glenville, W. Va. Having completed his doctoral degree at the University of Pittsburgh, he went on to become a licensed psychologist who worked at a variety of jobs during his career including teacher in Kingwood, W. Va.; school counselor at Mt. Lebanon Schools, Pittsburgh; instructor at Duquesne University; executive director of Clarion County Mental Health Center; psychologist for Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging; and psychologist in private practice in East Brady, Cowansville, Petrolia and Leeper. Outside of work and during retirement, Ted was an avid golfer, woodworker, hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed reading western fiction, traveling and spending time with his family. Ted left behind his wife, Patricia Yearick Hauman, of Butler; his children, Robert T. (Susan) Hauman, of Culpeper, Va.; Kristin L. Hauman, of Verona; and Andrew R. (Lynda) Hauman, of State College; his grandson, Marshall Hauman; an uncle, William (Mary) Rymer, of St. Albans, W. Va.; two cousins, Michael (Samata) Sturm and Stephen Sturm, both of Morgantown, W. Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Robert T. Hauman will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at their residence at 108 Crabapple Drive, Butler. A graveside funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Penn Forest Natural Burial Park, 121 Colorado St., Verona, PA 15147.
